I felt I only touched the surface of most tasks.

My husband and I uses google earth to follow our daughters travels in Cuba.

Google doc

This feature would take hours and hours to explore, so I am going to do min and someday get back.
A use I am seeing is for students asking for some proof reading

Podcasting

I listened to a library and to a NY Times podcast.
I also listened to one of our Sno-isle podcasts, The Dark at the Top of the Stairs.
Will I use it, I doubt it. With so many books to read and listen to and so much music. There is only so much time.

Image generators

This was fun I did the Chance card and a fake magazine cover for my husband.
I hope the web 2.0 will stay. I am completing my tasks,but plan to go back and revisit as time permits. You can spend hours and hours on each, but alas the public awaits

Overdrive

Downloaded an old Bob Hope radio show.
I am a big fan of books on CD. I am going to use overdrive to a MP3. Up until now I have been to lazy to learn, but it was easier than expected and the MP3 will be much easier to use at gym and around house. I like the playaways, but selection is limited

search engines

I experimented with a couple of simple searches using dogpile and google.
I preferred the ordering of hits from google, at least for my purposes today.

friends networking

This was a lot of fun,
I am somewhat familiar with Facebook from my kids.
I just didn't want to get too involved. I barely have time to read my e-mail let alone sign up for more groups.

del.icio.us

I am conflicted, the tutoral made del.icio.us sound easy to use, but I still don't see myself using very often.
We have a very nice tag here at Stanwood and we rarely remember to use. It seems it is generally easier to look up site than to see if under del. and maybe it is or isn't.

wikis

The video was perfect. I plan on creating a wiki with my backpacking buddies. It always falls on one person's shoulders to coordinate.
I will update on how this went as soon as I get around to creating the wiki.

Streaming video

Gave up on you tube, I went to 3 sites and all kept freezing. I will try again whrn time permits.
Hulu was like a walk down memory lane. I didn't actually watch anyhing. I was just enjoying remininscing about some of the titles. Alias Smith and Jones now there's a forgotten show from the past.

Pandora

I was not impressed with Pandora.
I found it difficult to navigate and much of the music I tried to listen to was not available or required a download

I have signed onto several feeds. If it will improve my life or waste a lot of time only time will tell.
I am being to feel overwhelmed by the information highway and am ready for the next rest stop.

Anyone out there have a suggestion for a 8-10 mile roundtrip mountain backpack in WA?
Elevation game not to exceed 2500 feetish.

Lifelong learning

The hardest and easiest are the same for me.
I am leary of trying new technology as it will be too difficult and I am often pleasantly surprised at the ease.
Although I am not committing to a contract, I will attempt to try new things in the tech world.
